This Is Not a Court or Government Office. Lapeer County Court Docket is privately operated. It cannot retrieve an official file, alter a setting, seal or remove a record, prepare a certified copy, or advise anyone about a legal matter. Those requests belong with the responsible court or clerk.
Need an Official Docket or Record?
Start with the court that holds the case. The Lapeer County Clerk serves as record keeper for the 40th Circuit Court, Family Court, and Specialty Court; 71A District and Probate maintain their own routes. MiCOURT may help identify a public case, but it is informational and does not replace the official file.
- 40th Circuit, Family, or Specialty Court: contact the Circuit Court Clerk for Circuit case files, motion dockets, family matters, and certified-copy procedures.
- 71A District Court: call 71A District Court for traffic, misdemeanor, preliminary felony, district civil, and small-claims matters.
- Probate matters: use the Probate Court for estates, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, and related probate files.
- Juvenile matters: call the Juvenile Division at (810) 667-0270. Juvenile access is restricted by statute and court rules, so an ordinary public name search is not the right route.
- County administrative records: use the Lapeer County FOIA route when the request concerns county administration or the responsible record keeper is unclear. Court-case requests should go straight to the court or clerk that keeps the file.
For 40th Circuit Court records, the primary counter is the Circuit Court Clerk, Lapeer County Complex Building, 255 Clay Street, Suite 227, Lapeer, MI 48446. The office phone is (810) 667-0358, and county clerk office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call before traveling when a request involves an older file, restricted material, an audio record, or certification.
